Safety Standards

The test methods used by our company are also used by other bulbar manufacturers and car manufacturers in Australia, New Zealand and overseas.

-As 4876.1.2002 “Motor Vehicle Frontal Protection Systems”. Section 3 Performance requirements and in particularly to Clause 3.1 “Australian Design Rules Compliance. This Clause quotes “The VFPS shall continue to comply to all Australian Design Rules”. All the VFPS tested by our company are being certified to Continue to comply with all Australian Design Rules and Standards!

To achieve this the following test methods are being used:

-Pendulum test commonly used to test bumper bars (approved and documented by Society of Automotive Engineers- SAE.

-Full Frontal Barrier Test for Must Not Deploy, Must Deploy and 48kph & 56kph occupant protection tests.

-Offset Barrier Test at 64kph for occupant protection.

The above tests are being performed on real vehicles as well as on replica chassis.

In the past 10 years our company has tested over 300 models of Vehicle Frontal Protection Systems (bullbars) and it is estimated that over 300,000 tested VFPS are being fitted on motor vehicles in Australia and overseas.

Over that period of time approximately 2000 vehicles were involved in major or minor collisions and no adverse airbag deployment reported.

The above facts gives us confidence that our test methods developed over the years are accurate and can be used to certify a VFPS for airbag compatibility.
